Yeah, I am that dude. I over-explain.
Over-explaining has been one of the hindrances of my writing.
As if my audience consists of idiots. (Hint: They are smart people).
Great writers trust their audience. They don’t spoon-feed. They set the clues but let the readers figure out the punchline.
They draw the sketch but let readers paint it with the colors of their choice.
It’s hard. It makes me afraid.
It’s one skill that I am working on.
