Have you ever been that person who overexplains?

Yeah, I do that in my writing. I have this urge to explain every detail without leaving room for misunderstanding. This comes from fear that my audience won’t understand what I am saying.

My writing, thus, becomes verbose and lacks mystery.

Here are two simple ways I’m working on to break free from this habit:

  1. Trusting my readers – They are smart enough to put 2 and 2 together
  2. Trusting myself – I am smart enough to convey my ideas

It’s a journey of finding the sweet spot between clarity and intrigue.
