How do you convert information into a story?

Here’s one storytelling tip that I use the most.

Make it about one person.

Don’t say – “We help developers write code faster”.

Instead, say – “John was a Javascript developer who was unhappy with work-life balance. After using our software, his productivity improved, allowing him to spend more time with his kids”.

Don’t say – “We will reduce joint pain.”

Instead, say – “This is the story of a 53-year-old Alice struggling with knee pain”.

Inserting a person makes your story much more concrete and relatable, thus creating a deeper connection with the audience.
