I have been to a Vipassana retreat thrice. It has been the hardest thing that I have ever done.

Do you know what’s interesting?

During all the 3 retreats, I have never felt pleasant or comfortable.

The 10 days of silence have always been a struggle for me. The whole experience is just dark.

There is always a pain in my body, confusion in my mind… and lots of self-doubts everywhere.

Despite this discomfort, you have to show up for the schedule.

A meditation sitting is the last thing that you want to do in this miserable situation. But… you cannot bunk it.

But then, as you continue pushing through this, something magical happens at the end of the 10 days.

It’s like your mind has undergone some intense cleansing. You are a transformed person altogether.

Similarly, in our daily lives, we all have days when we feel tired and frustrated.

We doubt ourselves.

We feel overwhelmed.

But even amidst this frustration, it is necessary to show up.

When we start showing up even when we don’t feel like, a deep transformation happens within us.
