Elias is my mentor. He helps me with my writing.
Elias can be intense at times. Whenever I ask him, “Should I do this?”, he replies by saying, “What do you think you should do?”
The question often takes me by surprise. I feel a little embarrassed.
But isn’t that just brilliant? Rather than giving me the answer, I am being made uncomfortable. I am being asked to take responsibility. I am being made to face my fears.
When you mentor or teach someone, don’t give them the answer. In fact, make them curious.
Don’t try to quench their thirst. Instead, make them more thirsty.
